Engage

People Love to Share

Quizzes, we’ve all done them. Even the savviest internet user will be unwittingly dragged in a little quiz. It’s not all about trash quizzes that inform you about which Kardashian you are, but some are insightful and personality based. More importantly, people love them and so do we at WeByte HQ!

According to the folks at Qzzr, quiz posters average a conversion rate of 14.7 percent for sales leads and 23.2 percent for special offers with a 330 percent month-over-month growth rate. Wow!

Any business who are looking for shares and traffic can see the power of traffic and even the most basic of the set of questions drive engagement and a positive view of the brand.

According to Fracti, they analysed the data from Playbuzz and the stats are again amazing

  • 77% of all Playbuzz-powered quizzes that have been shared 100,000 times or more are personality quizzes.
  • The word that appears more than any other in the top quiz titles is – no shocker here – “personality.”
  • Trivia quizzes that test our capacity for information recall are hugely popular, but those that test our knowledge of pop culture franchises are even more so.

What kind of Quiz to Create?

There are two main types of quizzes: graded quizzes and outcome quizzes. Graded quizzes give a percentage answer or a grade. The example would be “Are you a crazy cat lady ?” Could give 75% – Nearly there only a few more cats to go!  You can use this type of quiz if the products or services that you offer can fill the users’ knowledge gaps.

Try not to make quizzes too difficult, people prefer to share when they get 100% or a high score, in fact, 45% of shares come from those who get top marks. We suggest that you don’t create graded quizzes that are too complicated. People like to share their results if they’re proud of them, so don’t make your quiz too hard. Choose accessible questions and only allow one response per question (multiple responses will make the quiz more difficult).
Also, don’t just show your users the correct answers at the end. Give them some additional information so they can use your quiz to learn and grow.

People love self-discovery – it is so popular, in fact, that all 10 of the most shared quizzes from 2014 contain the word “you” or “your.” People seem to be more willing to engage with ideas that confirm something they already believe or identify with. There is no subject more well known to someone than themselves, making identity-based questions and quizzes incredibly compelling for audiences.

End the quiz with a mention of your brand or try to gain a like for your page or a click to your website, quizzes are a secret weapon in marketing, create something fun and engaging will reflect well on your business and brand and it can be shared around.
